Board of Trustees and Officers

The Toledo-Lucas County Public Library is governed by a seven-member Board of Trustees. Four are appointed by the Lucas County Commissioners and three are chosen by Lucas County Common Pleas Court Judges. The Trustees serve seven-year terms without remuneration. The Library Board meets at 8:30 a.m. on the fourth Thursday of each month, location to be announced. There is no meeting in August. The November and December meetings are on the third Thursday. 2010 Board Meetings

Susan M. Savage President Mrs. Savage has been an activist in the Toledo community for many years. Mrs. Savage was appointed by the Court of Common Pleas. Her term ends January 11, 2015.

James E.A. Black II Vice President Mr. Black serves as secretary- treasurer of the oldest family- owned utility in the state of Ohio, the Waterville Gas Company. Mr. Black was appointed by the Lucas County Commissioners. His term ends on January 10, 2011.

Dennis G. Johnson Secretary Mr. Johnson, president of Brooks Insurance Agency, is a Toledo native with over 35 years experience in the insurance industry. Mr. Johnson was appointed by the Court of Common Pleas. His term ends January 11, 2017.

A. Randy Clay Mr. Clay is a Toledo resident and business-owner, of Chem Sales, Inc., a firm selling an ice melting product nationally. Mr. Clay was appointed by the Court of Common Pleas. His term ends January 11, 2012.

Michael P. Dansack, Jr. Mr. Dansack is a Toledo lawyer and partner at Gallon, Takacs, Boissoneault & Schaffer Co., L.P.A. Toledo. Mr. Dansack was appointed to the Library Board by the Lucas County Commissioners. His term ends on January 10, 2016.

Sheila Odesky Mrs. Odesky is the former Director of Grants at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center (1985-2000), and is currently involved with the United Way of Greater Toledo, the Susan G. Komen Foundation’s Northwest Ohio chapter, and many other local organizations. Mrs. Odesky was appointed by the Lucas County Commissioners. Her term ends January 10, 2013.

George R. Tucker Mr. Tucker, Chief Financial Officer and top elected official of the AFL-CIO, has spent his career furthering the goals of organized labor. Mr. Tucker was appointed by the Lucas County Commissioners. His term ends on January 10, 2014.
