The Imitation Game - 2014 movie starring Benedict Cumberbatch

Title: The Imitation Game
Director: Morten Tyldum
Screenplay: Graham Moore
MPAA Rating: PG13
Year: 2014
Genres: Historical Drama, Mystery & Suspense, War
Rating: ★★★★ out of 5

The Imitation Game is an incredibly powerful and heartbreaking film starring Benedict Cumberbatch (Alan Turing), Keira Knightley, Matthew Goode, Rory Kinnear, Allen Leech, Charles Dance and Mark Strong. Graham Moore loosely based the film’s screenplay on the biography Alan Turing: The Enigma by Andrew Hodges, which went on to win the Oscar and WGA Award (Writers Guild of America) for Best Adapted Screenplay.

The story centers around mathematician Alan Turing and a hand selected team working against all odds to decipher Germany’s Enigma machine during World War II. And while there are triumphant aspects of the story related to the Enigma machine, Turing's story is also incredibly tragic. This is absolutely one of those films you just have to see for yourself. Imitation Game is a compelling, well written, thought provoking and superbly acted film.
