As the New Year approaches, you might be considering a resolution for yourself or your children aimed at improving your health, reducing your stress level, or simply picking up a new hobby.
That’s where the latest edition of our ongoing “At the Library” series comes in – as yoga is great way of tackling all three of these resolutions!

Streaming Yoga Videos on hoopla
Would you rather begin your yoga practice in the warmth and comfort of your own home? We can help with that too!
Yoga Books and DVDs
We carry a variety of yoga books and videos to help guide you through practice. Some of my favorites include:
This illustrated book takes a humorous look on the everyday opportunities to incorporate yoga, meditation, and stretching into our lives. Try the “Close the Deal Warrior Pose” or the “Morning Meltdown Stretch.”
Pick Your Yoga Practice
Surprisingly, there are a number of different types of yoga! This book breaks down the dozens of yoga styles from Ashtanga, to Kundalini, to Bikram and more, so that you can find the perfect type of yoga practice for you.
Yoga for Kids
Outer Space Blast Off and Dino-Mite Adventure
This is a great set of videos that present yoga programs in a kid-friendly way, incorporating themes like dinosaurs and outer space.
Rodney Yee’s Yoga Series
Renowned yoga instructor Rodney Yee offers a variety of videos of varying degrees of difficulty. Try A.M. & P.M. Yoga for Beginners for a lighter practice, or Ultimate Power Yoga for a more advanced program. What I like most about his videos are the scenic locations featured. After all, it’s much easier to find your Zen when you’re staring at a beautiful seascape!
