A Splendid Friend, Indeed

A Splendid Friend, Indeed by Suzanne Bloom

Another great title from the 101 Picture Book Challenge list is “A Splendid Friend, Indeed” written and illustrated by Suzanne Bloom. This short story presents a bear reading quietly until a talkative goose shows up. Goose has too many questions! What does it really want from Bear? Friendship, that’s all. What I love about this book is how the complexity of friendship is approached in such simple manner. The vibrant simplistic illustrations reflect both characters’ emotions and personalities perfectly. Splendid, simple and a short sweet story, indeed!

"A Splendid Friend, Indeed" is available in English and Spanish.
