It’s almost time! As the culmination of months of rehearsals and tireless planning comes to an end, the chamber orchestra students from the Toledo School for the Arts will present a free performance of African American music at the Main Library on February 1st. The program will feature a wide scope of music that is representative of the contributions African Americans have made to our society, from music written in the late 1800s to music from the 1950s. The students have been collaborating with experienced jazz artist, Dr. Michael Peslikis, and will perform alongside him on several pieces that he arranged just for the ensemble.
