Newport April 9th 1815

Sir:
Doctor John R. Martin of the Army is desirous of being transferred to the
Navy, and hes requested me to State to you such knowledge as I profess respecting him--He was Genl Harrison's principal Surgeon in the N. W. Army and immediately after the action of the 10th Sept he was sent to our aid by Gen Harrison with a strong recommendation.
