Cartooning is one of the world's most flexible art forms. A cartooning talent can be applied to everything from doodling to graphic novels, from illustrations to comic strips, from animation to caricature. This program is half performance, half hands-on practice, and the emphasis is on having fun with funny drawings rather than on hardcore drafting skills. Participants are welcome to bring a favored drawing implement if they have one but otherwise, supplies will be provided. Dragons and Dinosaurs, Bones of Contention      (T) June 17, 2 p.m.      Grades K-5 Explore the perplexing complexities of the dragon/dinosaur world, with the help of dinosaur fossils and Darwin the dragon. Enjoy spine tingling excitement in storytelling when 'Indiana Bones' digs up the old 'tails' of dragons and dinosaurs. Celebrate the Red, White and Blue!      (M) June 30, 2 p.m.      Grades K-5 Young chefs: put on your hats, worm your way into your favorite Fourth of July recipes, and enter our annual food contest. Bring a dish or snack to share as well as a serving utensil. Don't forget your recipe so we can make cookbooks for everyone. Don't eat too much lunch before you come!

Build a better bug Lego contest!      (M) July 7, 2 p.m.      Grades 3-5 All entomologist enthusiasts in grades 3, 4, and 5 are invited to compete in an insect Lego building contest. Ribbons and prizes will be awarded. All first place winners in each grade level will be invited to Main Library on Saturday, July 26th to compete in a county-wide Lego contest. Participants should bring their own Legos.
