Social Networking Policy
Toledo Lucas County Public Library (TLCPL) recognizes the value of social networking (blogs, community reviews, patron comments, and other social software tools) to increase the public’s knowledge of and use of library services for educational, cultural, civic, and recreational purposes. TLCPL’s social networking tools provide a limited public forum to facilitate the sharing of ideas, opinions, and information about library-related subjects and issues. TLCPL’s social networking tools are intended to create a welcoming and inviting online experience, where library users will find useful and important information and can interact with library staff and other library users. Comments are moderated by library staff. The Board authorizes the administration exclusive right to remove comments that are unlawful, off-topic or deemed inappropriate.
Approved by Board of Trustees on December 16, 2010.
