Social Media Policy
This policy strictly pertains to the Toledo Lucas County Public Library (TLCPL)’s official social media channels as outlined below:

The purpose of these established channels is to provide an online resource for customers to interact, communicate and share ideas with the Library. Additionally, TLCPL’s social media channels will serve as a resource for the Library to share and distribute pertinent information, its story, values and the many ways in which it - and libraries in general - positively impact the communities they serve.
Comments and posts are welcome on the Library’s social media sites, however content containing any of the following may be removed:
Obscene comments or hate speech
Personal attacks, harassment or threatening language
Potentially libelous statements
Plagiarized or copyrighted material
Commercial promotions or spam
Political or religious messages
Material that is deemed off topic or inappropriate
Private or personal information
Falsification of identity
Hyperlinks to material not directly related to the discussion
Any illegal activity
Solicitations for donations, or membership requiring a fee
Photos or other images that may fall in any of the above categories
TLCPL reserves the right to edit or remove any comments, images, graphics or posts which fall into any of the above categories without warning. Additionally, TLCPL reserves the right to permanently block from the site person(s) who continue to violate the above guidelines.
By posting to the Library’s social media channels, users agree to indemnify TLCPL and its representatives from and against all liabilities; damages and costs incurred which arise out of or are related to the posted content.
