Created by the Ohio History Connection, this exhibit examines and celebrates the path taken by Ohio women to achieve the right to vote, as well as the history of civic auction led by a diverse spectrum of Ohio women throughout American history. Open during library hours.

Votes for Women: 100 Years of the 19th Amendment

August 17 – December 15 | Main Library

On August 18, 1920, the 19th Amendment to the Constitution gave women the right to vote. One hundred years later, with more women elected to office than ever before, the role of women in society and politics is ever-changing. Using letters, diaries and other historical documents, the exhibit highlights Toledo's role in the national women's movement and provides insight into the women who were left behind. Exhibit open during library hours.
