Struggling with mental illness is a resounding theme of young adult fiction. Our teenage years are often very complicated, especially when mental health issues arise. There are so many factors that young adults face (besides growing up) that can push anyone over the edge.
As we continue to deal with the effects of COVID-19, teens are experiencing mental health challenges more than ever. If you’re worried about a friend or family member, contact the Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation by texting ‘4Hope’ to 741-741, or calling 1-800-273-8255. You will be connected to a trained crisis counselor within five minutes.
While there’s no easy resolution to mental health issues, there’s always room for understanding. Increase your awareness with the books in this collection.
