The Best Comics for Vietnam War Veterans Day

Although the Vietnam War has been the subject of numerous iconic films (Apocalypse Now, The Deer Hunter, and Full Metal Jacket come to mind), it has been explored far less in the medium of comics. However, the comics that have tackled it offer an impactful glimpse into this extremely divisive and deadly period of 20th century history. For this National Vietnam War Veterans Day (which commemorates when the very last United States troops left Vietnam on March 23, 1973), we’ve selected an assortment of comics and graphic novels that hopefully capture the complex and often uncomfortable reality of the nearly two-decade war from a variety of perspectives.
