How many ways can you say, “I love you?” On October 14, you have the chance to do just that. National I Love You Day began in 2015 as a reminder to express love and appreciation for the important people in our lives. And it’s not just about sweethearts! This day is a great opportunity to celebrate friends, family members, classmates, coworkers, and anyone else who makes a difference in your life.
How can you celebrate? Sometimes, the simplest words can mean the most. Tell someone you love them. Say it in person, give them a call or video chat, send a quick text message, or write a thoughtful note or card. Love isn’t only something we say, it’s something we can show, too! Try helping a friend or family member with a chore, cooking a meal, sharing a favorite book, or simply asking, “How can I help?” Most importantly, make time for the people you care about. Play a game together, share a meal, read a book, take a walk, or just enjoy a conversation. This Wednesday, take a moment to spread a little extra kindness and don’t forget those three magic words, “I love you!”
