10 Movies To Get You Ready To Watch The Academy Awards

Every year I fill out an Oscars Ballot and see how my tastes compare to that of “The Academy.” Spoiler Alert: We rarely agree on anything.
Below are my favorite non-winning Best Picture nominees from the last 9 years (well, 2 from 2018 because I couldn’t choose). Some, like Whiplash, I had never heard of but absolutely loved. Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri had phenomenal acting, and Lion tugged at my heart strings. And really, do I have to explain why Black Panther is on my list? I don’t think I do.
