15 Exciting Comics You Need for National Science Fiction Day

It's nearly impossible to talk about the comic book medium without also addressing the genre of science fiction. From the earliest days of comics, speculative narratives about technology, alien worlds, space/time travel, and everything in between have been creatively explored by countless writers and illustrators. The superhero genre itself overlaps so much with sci-fi, that you'd be hard pressed to find a book with costumed heroes that doesn't incorporate themes, imagery, and concepts from sci-fi. In celebration of National Science Fiction Day, we've picked some of our favorite sci-fi offerings from the world of comics (although we've mostly stayed away from big media franchises here, peruse our favorite Star Wars and Alien comics as well).
