Indigenous Peoples’ Day, while not a federal holiday, is observed in many parts of the United States to honor the histories, cultures, and perspectives of Indigenous peoples and their ancestors who lived on the land now known as North America. The books listed here, mostly non-fiction, with one novel (an excellent horror novel perfect for the fall season) are written by or about Indigenous peoples.
