9 Best Tim Sale Comics
Posted on June 23, 2022

Last week, the world of comics (and pop culture in general) lost one of its most iconic, distinctive artists: Tim Sale. Lauded for his collaborations with writer Jeph Loeb, Sale’s body of work is not only beloved by comic fans, but has become a major influence on superhero cinema (most recently with The Batman, which drew heavily from Sale’s fantastic Batman: The Long Halloween). His moody, almost painterly approach to comic art continues the tradition of comic legends like Alex Toth, David Mazzucchelli, and Mike Mignola with its strong silhouettes and exaggerated forms, while still feeling incredibly modern. Celebrate his impressive legacy by diving into some of his most memorable contributions to the medium of comics.
