The Black girl magic in YA books this year is adding more depth and diversity to the genre than ever before. These stories are not just about magical and mythical beings but also about identity, resilience, and the richness of Black cultures. These books inspire and empower. What I love most is that they offer young Black girls a chance to see themselves in worlds where they are not only present but pivotal. Where they can battle dark forces, wield ancient powers, navigate enchanted realms, or embark on heroic quests!

Some magical books from this year that I have loved are:

Blood at the Root by Ladarrion Williams

Book | eBook | Audiobook

Ghost Roast by Shawnelle Gibbs

Graphic Novel

Children of Anguish and Anarchy by Tomi Adeyemi

eBook | eAudiobook | Book
