Books for Collage 101 (and 200)

Collage is art created by sticking various paper materials, typically photographs and pieces of paper, on to a backing or thicker and larger piece of paper. Together all these different pieces of paper make up an entirely new image. For example, the pieces of paper could just be different shades of orange, black, and white to make up a tiger. Or they could be various images or photos put together to make an entirely new and interesting image.
Art journaling is collage, but in a portable book format that often incorporates a journal entry. Collage can even be made with three-dimensional objects. Mixed media art is using different materials like plastic, the hard cover of a book, pills, gum, etc. to make the collage.
