Celebrate Latinx (Hispanic) Heritage Month

September 15 through October 15 is recognized as Hispanic Heritage Month in the United States. During this time, we honor the cultures, contributions, and diversity of both Hispanic and Latinx Americans. We have lots of ways for everyone to join the celebration.
Take part in a Huichol Indian yarn art class at any of our Library locations throughout September and October. Huichol Indian yarn art dates to the indigenous Huichol community in Mexico. Please see our events calendar for dates and times.
Learn how to cook a Latin dish during our cooking class presented by Sofia Quintero Arts and Cultural Center’s culinary artist. One cooking class will be held on September 23 at the Sofia Quintero Arts and Culture Center. See details and register here. Stop by one of our locations and pick up an activity kit or stay in and color your own Alebrije.
