Exciting Superhero Comics You Need on Senior Citizens Day

Take a moment to think about your favorite superheroes. What’s the most impressive superpower? Flight? Super speed or strength? Being rich enough to have a Batmobile? What about staying roughly the same age for decades? I mean, if you accept the generally held belief that Batman is in his late 20s to early 30s when he debuted in Detective Comics #27 in 1939, then Bruce would be well over 100 in real time.
Clearly, there is something that’s more powerful than any radioactive spider, gamma rays, or super soldier serum: the need for corporations to keep their profitable IP young, healthy, and very much not elderly and alive. However, occasionally, comic book publishers embrace this wild (and usually out-of-continuity) idea that maybe we should see what would happen if our beloved heroes were allowed to age like the rest of us. So, in honor of National Senior Citizens Day, we’ve selected some of our favorite stories to feature iconic characters who are, shall we say, advanced in age.
