Revelatory and evocative, Ida follows a young novitiate on a journey to uncover secrets about her past. Ida is set in 1960s Poland and described by the director as a film about “identity, family, faith, guilt, socialism and music”.

Winner of an Academy Award and BAFTA award in 2014, this film is in Polish, but do not be deterred, movie fans, as Frasier Crane once said regarding subtitles: “Mind them? I prefer them!”

Join the Film Discussion Group online on Wednesday January 25 at 6:30 p.m. to discuss this film.
