Get Unplugged with a Day of Play!

Technology offers many engaging options for learning and communication. But sometimes screen time becomes a family’s primary leisure time. Research from the American Academy of Pediatrics reports that today’s children are spending an average of seven hours a day on entertainment media, including televisions, computers, phones and other electronic devices (aap.org).

If you are worried that the digital world has become a solo preference of entertainment for your kids, the Toledo Lucas County Public Library has some creative read-alouds for you. Characters in these stories show how they unplug and still have fun.

We’re bringing Library activity programs to you! Visit any location where we will have Activities to Go envelopes in bins at the Grab and Go tables. Each envelope has directions and supplies for fun activities at home for preschoolers, kids ages 5 – 10, and teens.
