This is the author that got me hooked! As a high schooler, I read The Other Boleyn Girl and from then on, couldn’t get enough of British history. This book sparked my undergraduate degree major: European History. I even studied abroad in London so I could get a good look at everything Plantagenet and Tudor.Gregory spins a story so beautiful with just enough facts and fiction that make it hard to put down. As with most historical fiction, the backdrop is set in a specific time and place, but the dialogue, thoughts, and actions of the characters are mostly imagined. Her books blend it so nicely, and became much more to me than just stories.

If you are a fan of historical fiction, particularly British history, pick up one of these lovelies today. The best part is you don’t necessarily have to read them in order.

The Plantagenet and Tudor Series

Interested in the historic British setting, but would rather watch than read? Try some of Gregory’s books turned into film: The White Queen, The White Princess, The Other Boleyn Girl, The Spanish Princess

The Fairmile Series

This series is Gregory’s newest work and takes place during the English Civil War but instead of focusing on royalty, she narrows in on an ordinary woman living in a time when witch mania makes it dangerous to be different.

The Order of Darkness Series

Gregory’s debut teen novel series, The Order of Darkness, begins in 1453 with an expelled teen monk being recruited to free Europe of evil. Subjects: Secret Societies & Paranormal Fiction.

The Tradescant Series

Here is a beautifully written story of the royal gardener’s invaluable service to King James I. This series is available as a downloadable audio book or ebook.
