Learning to Cook Hungarian Style- Virtually!

Posted on December 11, 2020

by Teresa and Abby

A few years ago, Birmingham Branch Manager Julie McCann, along with the Hungarian Club of Toledo, began the Learn to Cook Hungarian Style! This program series aimed to teach people how to make traditional Hungarian dishes and connect people with their Hungarian heritage, family traditions, each other, and the Library. People often remarked they “always wanted to make grandma or mom’s special dishes, but never learned while their family members were alive.” While we can’t currently provide the in-person cooking classes, you can still connect to Hungarian history and learn something new with the virtual Learn How to Cook Hungarian Style. You will learn how to make Hungarian nut rolls. The video will be available on TLCPL’s YouTube channel here after 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 14.

Learn more about Hungarian dishes with these books from TLCPL’s collection!
