I love a good memoir. For me, better than an autobiography that offers a chronological telling of the subject’s life, a memoir uses the subject’s life events to elaborate on a larger theme. The exceptional memoirs expand the world of the reader in creative and engaging ways. Here are some excellent choices written by members of the LGTBQIA+ community.
