National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) began in 1999 as a challenge to writers: write 50,000 words of a novel in thirty days. Now, hundreds of thousands of writers begin to write November 1 and end the month with a sizable chunk of novel. Events are hosted all over the world and it is completely powered by the Wrimo community. Many popular novels of the last decade or so were written during NaNoWriMo. Here’s a selection of our favorites.
