Read Across America – Every Day!
Posted on March 2, 2021

National Read Across America Day, is celebrated on March 2nd, and we could not neglect to acknowledge the celebration. As I considered the idea, it reminded me of the road trips I have taken, want to take and have read about, both real and fictional. So, I traveled to our catalog and did some research. Here are a few of the gems I found.
Road Trip Fiction
Road trip fiction is a real thing. It turns out, a road trip is a great vehicle (sorry!) to move a story or idea along. Below is a small sampling of reading options. If you are searching for other similar titles, use search terms like road trip, adventure, journey and fiction. Notice that some titles are even available in an audio format—which means you can “read” literally while you’re headed down the highway.
Road Trip Planning
If you are looking to make an actual road trip, our collection is full of resources. Use search terms like automobile travel, roads and guidebooks to find more like the examples below.
Real Road Trip Accounts
And finally, learning about someone else’s real life road trip may be the next best thing to hitting the road yourself. Imagining a road trip with Henry Ford, Harry Truman or Andy Warhol? We’ve got you covered.
