While the sneaky saboteurs known as ninjas faded into obscurity hundreds of years ago, they have been given a second life in popular culture. In the ‘90s, ninjas were everywhere, from video games (Mortal Kombat, Shinobi, Ninja Gaiden Trilogy, TMNT: Turtles in Time) to television (Power Rangers, VR Troopers, Ninja Turtles) to movies (3 Ninjas, Ninja Turtles). Basically, if it existed in the ‘90s, there was a Ninja Turtle version of it.

Although I wouldn’t necessarily recommend sneaking into a rival clan’s fortress to seek revenge, you can still have an amazing International Ninja Day by reading some of our favorite ninja comics below (and you don’t even have to scale any walls or learn how to fight with a sword).
