Stranger Things has demonstrated an uncanny ability to pull some less-than-mainstream musical gems from the ‘80s and turn them into hits in 2022. We saw it happen with Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill,” and then, perhaps more surprisingly, Metallica’s “Master of Puppets.” A seminal song off a seminal record, “Master of Puppets” represents a time before Metallica became a household name in the early ‘90s with The Black Album—back when they were fast, aggressive pioneers of Thrash Metal. Check out some of these other beloved, undoubtedly-Eddie-Munson-approved metal albums from the 1980s. They’re sure to induce head-banging for metal-heads old and new alike.
