It’s hard to believe, but Nov. 10, 2025, will be the 50th anniversary of the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald. Great Lakes shipwrecks have always been especially fascinating for those of us who grew up near these unforgiving waterways. Whether it is because of the immense tragedy of losing all hands during a recent(-ish!) dramatic storm or the unforgettable Gordon Lightfoot song based on the disaster, the mighty Fitz is the most memorable of all the wrecks. Here are the best titles we have on the Fitz and other Great Lakes shipwrecks.
