The 1980s were, like, so weird. Computers were large, clunky, and too expensive for most people to own at home. Going to the arcade to play video games with a big comb in one back pocket and a Dr. Pepper-flavored Lip Smacker in the other was the height of entertainment. Telephone answering machines were newfangled contraptions, MTV blew us away, and the Walkman let us listen to our favorite tunes wherever we went. Wearing pastel-colored shorts with sweat socks pulled up to our knees was an actual valid fashion choice. It’s amazing we survived.
