Celebrate Welcoming Week with Toledo Library and Welcome Toledo Lucas County. Welcoming Week celebrates Toledo’s certification as a welcoming place for all! The Toledo Library has a week-long lineup of programs and activities to showcase the amazing cultures of our community and the contributions they have made. TLCPL will kickoff Welcoming Week with a party on Main Library’s North Lawn featuring immigrant owned restaurants and entertainment.

Artifacts, handicrafts, and more creations will be on display to promote the culture and history of Pakistan that is dated back to 5000 B.C. These artists are passionate about bringing international arts to Toledo to create awareness, harmony, and tolerance between the communities promoting peace and friendship.
 
45,000 Quilt
Sept. 1 – 30, 2022
Pieces of the quilt will be viewable at these locations: Mott, South, Locke, Heatherdowns, Holland, Washington. Visit each branch to view the full quilt. The 45,000 Quilt Project, is a work of art which brings together the vision of 60 immigrant justice activists and artists. The quilt is composed of 45 squares containing 1,000 marks. In total, 45,000 marks represents the average number of immigrants held in detention on any given day. The quilt is a visual representation of the largest immigrant detention system in the world.
