MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Thanks for your interest in volunteering at the Library. We have opportunities for both teens and adults!

The VolunTEEN program is for teens ages 13 through 17 (or until high school graduation) who want to volunteer during the school year or assist with Summer Read during the summer. As a VolunTEEN, you will:
  • Earn volunteer hours while working with staff, children, and families.
  • Use our summer reading software to sign up readers for Summer Read and award prizes.
  • Assist with Library programming.
  • Fulfill optional opportunities available based on the needs of the Library’s location, including, but not limited to, maintaining the cleanliness of the Library’s collection, completing crafts and activities, playing games, and reading with children of all ages.
We accept applicants year-round. The School Year VolunTEEN Program runs from September through March, and applicants can apply beginning September 1 of each school year. The Summer Read VolunTEEN Program runs from April through August, and applicants can apply beginning April 1 of each year.
All teens must create a new School Year VolunTEEN or Summer Read account every year and for both programs! After creating your account, please check your email immediately for account confirmation and next step instructions. Volunteers must be 13 (at the time of account creation) and older and complete ALL qualifications to advance in the volunteer process.

If you are a new or returning volunteer, you must create a new account here

After you have created a new account or are a current VolunTEEN, please log into the volunteer portal here.

If you are a teen seeking community service hours only or have further questions or concerns about volunteering, please contact Mrs. Talena Reynolds directly at 419.259.5229 for further assistance.

Thank you for your interest!
The Adult Volunteer Program runs year-round for adults ages 18 or over. Please note that interviews, background checks, and training are required for all applicants. As a trained adult volunteer, you will:
  • Complete activities and crafts, play games and read with children of all ages.
  • Assist with Library programs and events at various Library locations.
  • Fulfill optional opportunities available based on the needs of the Library’s location, including but not limited to straightening shelves, inputting data, and maintaining the cleanliness of the Library’s collection and materials.
