Women’s History Month Spotlight: 10 Thrilling Action Heroines

It’s somewhat perplexing that so much of action cinema is coded as masculine and marketed toward a male audience, because many of the best films in the genre have tough, charismatic, and utterly mesmerizing women in the lead role. I mean, did Stallone, Van Damme, or Seagal ever make a film that was even close to being as exciting, well-acted, or enduring as Aliens or Terminator 2? We could debate it for hours, but why do that when the answer is just “no.” So, this Women’s History Month, remember that a woman’s place is in a space battle, sword fight, and/or car chase. We’ve selected some of our favorite action heroines below.
