Ten Ways to Hear Snow by Cathy Camper

As Lina walks to her Sitti’s house she notices all of the ways the snow changes the sounds around her.  When she gets to her destination, she is surprised that her Sitti, who cannot see very well, knows all about the storm they had.

Silverworld by Diana Abu-Jaber

Sami loves hearing her Lebanese grandma’s stories about magical sprites that are summoned by spells and dreams, and of the book of spells she will show her when she turns 12.  As her grandma’s dementia gets works, Sami is the only one who seems to understand her.   Wanting to help her Grandma, Sami opens the book on her own, and ends up in Silverworld.

Fifth-grader Farah has one thing on her mind – getting into the Magnet Academy for middle school.  But when she finds out her younger brother is being bullied, she has a change of plans.

Mis(h)adra by Iasmin Omar Ata

This is a semi-autobiographical graphic novel.   Isaac is struggling to handle college, everyday life, and epilepsy.  Struggles with medication, doctors, family members in denial about his illness, plus all the usual college stress, make him feel that he’s never going to find balance.
