Gulliver's Travels was written in 1726 and has become one of the great classics of English literature.
In the 1939 animated movie, the brilliant animation team of Max and Dave Fleischer took a break from Popeye and Betty Boop cartoons to tackle Gulliver's adventures. Two years earlier, Disney's classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs raised the bar for all animated features to follow, but Fleischer Studios was up to the challenge. The result is a gorgeous 76-minute feature (the first animated feature from an American studio other than Disney), which earned an Academy Award nomination for it's score and another for songwriting.
The 2017 film is an animated adventure on a gigantic scale in this whimsical laughter-filled tale of some very tiny people who learn some very big lessons about life, accepting differences, love and spaghetti!
