School’s out for the summer… now what? Summer break is the time where we push the thoughts of homework and deadlines out of our minds, to focus on sunshine, barbecues and a whole lotta fun! But soon enough, the next school year will be just around the corner. How do we keep our brains ready for the next academic year? How do we avoid the summer slide?
Well, for starters, visit the library! Reading remains one of the most important ways to keep our minds sharp to prevent summer slide. Join our virtual programs, sign up for Summer Read, and explore our StoryWalks.
Scholastic Teachables has many excellent ideas and activities for summer! Just type the keyword “summer” into the search box. Check out their “Summer Stay-on-Track Packs” that provide in-depth reviews of lessons learned the previous school year. Just type “stay on track” in the search bar to locate your child’s grade level.
