TOLEDO MUD HENS AND WALLEYE RETURN TO MAIN LIBRARY FOR ANNUAL TAKEOVER EVENT

Library customers can try hands-on sports experiences with help from Mud Hens and Walleye staff

TOLEDO, Ohio — The Toledo Lucas County Public Library’s Main Library Takeover series continues when staff from two of the region’s favorite sports teams, the Toledo Mud Hens and Toledo Walleye, host an assortment of hands-on sports experiences for Library customers. The free, family-friendly event takes place from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 31.

During the afternoon, kids and their grown-ups are encouraged to try a variety of activities throughout Main Library, including stickhandling, skating in an inflatable ice rink, throwing and catching games, a home run derby and button making. An assortment of Mud Hens and Walleye memorabilia will be on display in the McMaster Lobby.

Library customers can vote for their favorite Mud Hen or Walleye mascot in the Teen section (and meet a few of the mascots in person, too). To complete their Mud Hens and Walleye Main Library Takeover experience, customers can take a run through the Spike Tunnel, located outside in Commissioners Plaza.

The Toledo Mud Hens and Walleye takeover at Main Library is free and open to the public. No advance registration is required to participate. For more details, visit toledolibrary.org/takeover.
